Membership Requirements
There are two categories of Membership:
For Pilot
Members:
(1)The Member must hold the appropriate and valid Airman Certificates,
Ratings, and Type Ratings for the aircraft that he/she wishes to be recognized
as a qualified crewmember.
(2) The Member must hold a current and valid
Medical Certificate for the privileges of the Airman Certificate that the
Member wishes to be recognized as qualified to perform.
(3) The Member
must have attended simulator based, manufacturer approved training in the last
12 Calendar months for all aircraft that the Member wishes to be listed as
qualified to operate. Alternating jet aircraft may be allowed per the
discretion of the Board of Directors and/or the appointed Membership Committee
provided the Member's experience level is such that the insurance requirements
are met.
(4) Successfully completed the IBACP Screening Process as
determined by the Board of Directors.
(5) The Member must have been a
participant in Business Aviation for a minimum of 3 years out of the last 7
years.
Application for Membership
(1) Application for
Membership shall be submitted in writing in a form approved for such purpose
by the Board of Directors. The application shall contain a statement, to be
signed as part of the application procedure, that the applicant, if admitted,
will be bound by the Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws then or
thereafter in effect
(2) To be admitted to the Membership, each applicant must submit to
the IBACP screening process. The applicant must submit all of the required
documents before they will be allowed to submit for Security and/or drug
screening. Screening requirements will consist of testing and background
checks as determined by the Board of Directors. Fees for the Testing and
Background checks must be submitted in advance, and will not be refundable
once the applicant has begun the screening process as they are paid to NATA
Compliance.
(3) Board of Directors approvals. At each regular meeting, the Board of
Directors shall be asked to ratify by vote the actions taken on Membership
applications since the previous meeting. Notice of action taken by the Vice
President of Membership and Standards, and confirmation by the Board of such
action, shall be promptly given to each applicant.
A Member’s liability for payment of dues shall commence on the first day of the month that is most coincident with approval of the application after the screening process has been completed by the Applicant. No Member shall have the right to vote until the Member’s dues have been paid.
Continuation of Active Membership:
IBACP
Membership will be based on all Member requirements being kept current. If a
Member fails to keep all of the requirements valid and current the Member's
Membership will become null and void with all listings of qualifications
removed from the IBACP website and registry.
